Paisley and Emmett

Paisley and I went to KC this weekend for a
belated Easter egg hunt (more pics later, but
Charles just came in and rolled his eyes at me,
so I guess I'll do that another time...). While we
were there, we hung out with Paisley's cousins,
and competed in the "who can sit up longest
without falling on our face" competition. I think
Emmett won when he purposely got on his
stomach and crawled away. It's strange to think
that in just 3 short months she could be crawling
as well. Although I doubt she will, as she still
won't roll over!!!

I love the evil look here she's directing towards
Emmett.

Has anyone tried the new Dr.Pepper Berries n' Cream? It's Heavenly.

And no, that's not what's in her sippy cup, yet.
I just can't believe she's big enough to use a sippy
cup. She's getting too big! She doesn't quite have the
concept of drinking from up a cup, but she's not
too far, as evidenced by these pics. I tried to give
her juice/water a month or 2 ago, but she didn't
know what to do with it and let it fall out of her
mouth and onto her shirt. Now she smacks her
lips and seems to enjoy it. Just imagine how
she'll be when she gets ahold of the Dr. Pepper...

This is the usual expression on her face

Now imagine the loudest and highest
pitch shriek ever, and that should
sum up this picture.

Charles came home as she was playing in the
laundry basket, was a little surprised at my
creativeness, and proceeded to ask why the hell
we had swings, bouncers and walkers if I was
just going to stick her in a basket. You can't say
she isn't enjoying herself.

Saturday

One last pic of the bunny ears...

Yo homey.

She's getting really good at sitting, yet she
refuses to roll over or push her arms straight
when she's on her tummy.

Where'd you go???

Someone posted a comment while I was in the middle of putting up the last post...and I didn't read it, thinking it would carry over. It didn't. Whoever was so kind as to comment, please rewrite it!!

No wonder the kids were crying

I dragged Charles and Paisley
to town with me last Saturday,
and HellMart happened to be
doing free photos with the creepy
Easter bunny. Since Charles
and I never pass up a chance to
torture the kid, we plunked her
on the bunny's lap. She LOVED it.
I guess it was like a big dog to her?

A trip to the zoo

that has about 6 animals. I did the SAHM thing
and went with a bunch of other moms to the
zoo Friday morning. This shot was taken as we
were leaving. I think she actually enjoyed it,
not so much for the animals, but because of all
the people she could watch.

Happy Easter

Paisley's basket. Charles thought I was really
silly to make the effort this year. He's just mad
I didn't get him a basket full of candy.

Easter outfit and ears. I think the
look says it all.

More!!! I want more!!!!

Our little sumb thucker

Up until 2 days ago she didn't know how to
suck her thumb. It's always in there, along with
2 or 3 fingers and a toy, but she has finally
learned to suck on it.

I thought her interest in this plant was cute
until the other day I was holding her after she'd
been in her walker and found a piece of leaf in
her hand. It's amazing the little things you don't
think about that could potentially harm a child.

She looks like a buck toothed rabbit in this pic,
which is odd since she doesn't have any teeth.

Sitting up, sort of.

she 's in my lap and desperately trying to get to
the keyboard)

Sweet potatoes AGAIN? But that's so BORING!

She was not posed in these photos. She just
fell asleep in the middle of a bite. Charles thinks
it's cruel, since it reminds him of being too tired
as a child, but I thought it was adorable. Then
again, I've found just about everything about her
to be adorable.

It's not torture when she likes it

Another day, another tornado

I'm starting to like this sitting up thing...

It's not evident, but P is looking at
Charles. I love the look on her face,
"Dad...why do you let mom do this
to me?"

This is how small our town is

A few weeks ago when it was nice out, Paisley and I walked to town (I use
that term loosely) to go to the post office (we have to time when we go because
the PO is closed between 12 & 2) and grocery store. I realized when we got home
that Paisley had kicked off one of her socks, a really cute pink sock with an orange
heel and toe, which matched a cute pink and orange outfit. ANYWAY, a few weeks
passed, and I kept meaning to check and see if it had been turned in at either place,
but never made it in. A few days ago I ran to the store because we were out
of diet coke-a staple in our home-and decided to run by the PO as well. No, they
hadn't seen it. I asked at the grocery store, and sure enough, it was sitting up on
a shelf by the register. I mean, this was weeks ago. If it had been any major store,
it would have been trashed long ago. I then had lunch with my neighbor and told
her about it, and she said, "oh, that was Paisley's sock? I've seen it in there." So
not only does that show just how small our town is, but how mundane it is living in the
country, when finding her sock is the highlight of my week.

It's finally warm enough to wear skirts, which P loves because it gives her
easier access to her toes. I should be dressing her in fatigues and combat boots
though, so that we can pick through the rubble of the tornadoes.

Just chillin'

ps. Paisley had her 6 month (!!) checkup this week. She's 16 pounds, 14 ounces, which is the 70th percentile, and 27 1/4 inches, putting her in the 95th percentile.

I love my daddy

So it's only taken me about 3 DAYS to download these pictures. Anyone
have a better picture service? Anyway, Charles NEVER lets me take
pictures of him, but he conceded when his parents were here, and I
got some darling ones of Paisley and her daddy. I just have to remind him
that she'll love these pictures when she's older (not that I can convince
myself of that).
